ACH (Pay-by-Bank)
Direct bank-to-bank payment via the Automated Clearing House network. Cheaper than card payments.
ACH (Automated Clearing House) is the US bank-to-bank payment rail. The customer authorizes payment from their bank account directly to yours, with a flat or low-percentage processor fee instead of card-network percentages.
For flooring contractors, ACH dramatically reduces processing fees on large invoices. A $10,000 card payment costs ~$290 in Stripe fees; the same $10,000 ACH payment costs ~$30. On large commercial invoices the savings reach four figures.
Make ACH the default payment method on invoices and reserve card payments for small balances or convenience. Pass the savings to the customer as a small ACH discount or pocket the margin — your call.
